All consultations are by booked appointment and appointments are available each morning and afternoon, Monday to Friday. You may consult whom you wish, but it is preferable if you see the same doctor for an ongoing problem if possible.

ROUTINE APPOINTMENTS

Most appointments can be booked well in advance.
However appointments will be available on the day for urgent problems.

Appointments can be booked via the internet.

EMERGENCY APPOINTMENTS – NURSE TRIAGE

For urgent problems, appointments can be made on the same day.You may be asked to speak to the Nurse Practitioner/Practice Nurse who is able to give telephone advice and see minor illness complaints. She can also assess the urgency of your problem,referring you to a GP if necessary.

MINOR INJURIES

The Practice provides a minor injury treatment and assessment service during opening hours. Injuries will be assessed by the Nurse Practitioner/Practice Nurse and where possible treatment provided at the surgery. It may be necessary for you to be referred onwards to A&E depending on the severity of the injury.

TELEPHONE ACCESS TO GP/NURSE

The Doctors and Practice Nurses are available each morning for telephone advice. Please telephone the Receptionist as early in the day as you can, with a contact number, to arrange for the Doctor or Nurse to phone you back at the end of their morning surgery.

HOME VISITS

If you are housebound or too ill to attend the surgery you can request a home visit. Please telephone the receptionist before 10.30 a.m.
When you telephone please be prepared to give the Receptionist details of the problem to help the doctor to assess the urgency of your request. The doctor may telephone you for further details.
Whenever practical please try to attend surgery -you will be seen more promptly and receive your medication immediately.

RESULTS

Please telephone 01476 550056 in the afternoon (2 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.) Please allow sufficient time for the results to be sent back from the laboratory. The doctor or nurse taking the test will advise you appropriately.
